Joe Ables vs Ian Landon

Boxing Daily Report from the Oak Promotions promoted show at Christchurch Ewan, Christchurch,  taking place on 14/08/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Joe Ables (5 - 4 - 1) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Ian Landon(23 - 21(5) - 7 - 1(NC)) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Ables weighed in at 199 pounds and 10 ounces, while Landon weighed in at 200 pounds and 9 ounces.    As Landon came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Mark Atchison, and the three ringside judges are Ian Dixon, Dave Pera and Ian Duff.

Ables advances into close range.  Ables lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Landon wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ables dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Ables.  That has caused slight damage to the nose.  
Ables steps to the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ables's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Landon's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Landon's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.
