Geoff Cloy vs Malik Mahboub

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Marlins Park, Miami,  taking place on 27/12/2042:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on HBO, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Geoff Cloy (13(5) - 0) who hails from Olathe, USA and Malik Dont Touch Mahboub(25(7) - 3(2)) from Zarqa, Jordan.  Both Cloy and Mahboub weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hugh Guffy, and the three ringside judges are Leo Couch, Inigo Poyner and Edmundo Celio.  

Round 1: 

Mahboub steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Cloy is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits the target with a solid jab.  Cloy tries to land an overhand right, but Mahboub dodges the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Mahboub gets on the inside.  Cloy lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Cloy throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Cloy tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with an overhand right.  
Cloy switches the action to the outside and lands a hard jab.  
Mahboub finds the target with a jab.

Mahboub steps inside and forces Cloy to retreat onto the ropes.  Mahboub lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  As Mahboub tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cloy dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Cloy steps away from his opponent.  Mahboub sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross to Cloy's body.  
Mahboub gets on the inside and connects with a right hook.

Mahboub closes the distance.  Cloy goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Mahboub time to recover.
