Charlie Allen vs James Rodden

Boxing Daily Report from the Oak Promotions promoted show at Christchurch Mellis, Christchurch,  taking place on 30/08/2042:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Canterbury Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Charlie Allen (4 - 6 - 1) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and James Rodden(8 - 5 - 1) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Allen and Rodden weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Tobias Vert, and the three ringside judges are Joshua Dallis, Ricky Houp and Jonathan Lockaby.  

Round 1: 

Rodden is on target with a right uppercut.  
Allen tries to step out of his opponents range and lands an overhand right.  Allen throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Rodden lands a cross.  
Allen is on target with a cross.  
Allen throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Rodden's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Rodden forces Allen to back into a corner.  Rodden quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Allen lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Allen gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Allen dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Allen.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Allen steps to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Allen gets on the inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Rodden dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Allen hits home with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Allen's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Rodden's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.
