Mark Muniru vs Thulani Shabangu

Boxing Daily Report from the Skebenga Corp promoted show at Abrankese Stadium, Kumasi,  taking place on 23/08/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the African Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mark Muniru (20(9) - 3(3) - 1) who hails from Kumasi, Ghana and Thulani Shabangu(34(2) - 18(9) - 1) from Johannesburg, South Africa.  Both Muniru and Shabangu weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rob Adjei, and the three ringside judges are Ibrahim Siddiqi, Ubanwa Akrofi and Quintavius Ametepey.  

Round 1: 

Muniru lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Muniru switches the action to the outside and lands a cross.

Muniru is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a solid cross.  
Shabangu gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Muniru lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Shabangu gets on the inside.  Muniru pivots to the right of his opponent.  Muniru throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Shabangu's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Shabangu lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Shabangu steps inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Muniru throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Muniru ties up his opponent.  Muniru pushes his forearm into Shabangu's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Muniru to stop fouling.  
Muniru switches the action to the outside.  Muniru feints a jab, tricking Shabangu into countering with a left uppercut.  Muniru springs the trap, countering with  a stinging cross.

Muniru tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Shabangu's kidney. Muniru leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Shabangu is looking to keep his distance and finds the target with a ramrod jab.
