David Cooney vs Charlie Fergusson

Boxing Daily Report from the Iain Llewellyn promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 06/06/2042:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are David Cú Chulainn Cooney (27(16) - 2(2)) who hails from Cork, Ireland and Charlie Fergusson(9(1) - 3(2)) from Glasgow, UK.  Cooney weighed in at 117 pounds and 11 ounces, while Fergusson weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Fionn Donnell, and the three ringside judges are Michael Corcoran, Paul MacKenna and Brandon Whalen.  

Round 1: 

Fergusson gets on the inside.  Cooney is on target with a left hook.

Cooney backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Fergusson steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.

Fergusson pushes his forearm into Cooney's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Fergusson to stop fouling.  
Cooney lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Cooney clinches his opponent.  Fergusson uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Cooney behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Fergusson about fouling.  
Fergusson gets on the inside and is on target with a solid right uppercut to Cooney's body.  Cooney ties up his opponent.  Fergusson tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Cooney's kidney. 
Cooney switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Fergusson hits home with a left hook.  
Fergusson closes the distance.  Cooney hits home with a left uppercut.  
Cooney is looking to keep his distance and lands a ramrod jab.  
Cooney is on target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Fergusson's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Fergusson's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.
