Sid McGuire vs Russell Smyth

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at House of Blues, Boston,  taking place on 27/11/2038:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sid McGuire (12(2) - 1) who hails from Boston, USA and Russell Smyth(25 - 7(4) - 3) from Tulsa, USA.  McGuire weighed in at 126 pounds, while Smyth weighed in at 126 pounds And 9 ounces.    As Smyth came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Owen Saunders, and the three ringside judges are Charles Keath, Elliot Ogle and Hugh Hier.  

Round 1: 

McGuire hits home with a solid cross.
