Joshua Mailer vs Neil Riddick

Boxing Daily Report from the VictoryBoxing promoted show at Ottawa Walter, Ottawa,  taking place on 30/07/2038:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Ontario Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joshua Mailer (18 - 10(5) - 2) who hails from Brampton, Canada and Neil Riddick(14 - 17(2) - 6) from Toronto, Canada.  Both Mailer and Riddick weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Callum Berry, and the three ringside judges are Clint Nicolls, Blaise Nolton and Paul Curtain.  

Round 1: 

Riddick hits home with a right hook.  
Riddick steps inside and lands a right hook.  
Mailer tries to keep the action at long range.  Riddick feints a cross, but Mailer does not fall for it and is on target with a right uppercut.  
Riddick closes the distance.  Mailer pivots to the right of his opponent.  Riddick throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Mailer.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
