Dale Mattas vs Marco Prinsloo

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast,  taking place on 14/08/2038:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Commonwealth Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Dale Mattas (23(12) - 3(1) - 1(NC)) who hails from Perth, Australia and Marco Prinsloo(26(1) - 11 - 3) from Umlazi, South Africa.  Mattas weighed in at 112 pounds, while Prinsloo weighed in at 111 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Sammy Feamster, and the three ringside judges are Gareth Alford, John Donohoe and Glynn Sear.  

Round 1: 

Mattas lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Mattas advances into close range and digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  Mattas holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Mattas pushes his forearm into Prinsloo's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mattas lands with a hard jab.  
Prinsloo tries to land a cross, but Mattas sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Mattas advances into close range.  Prinsloo throws a left hook, but Mattas holds on to his opponent.  Prinsloo is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Prinsloo to stop fouling.  
Prinsloo sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Prinsloo hits home with a right uppercut.  
Mattas gets on the inside and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Mattas lands a jab to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Prinsloo pivots to the right of his opponent.  Mattas lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Prinsloo attempts to land a cross, but Mattas sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Prinsloo walks Mattas down, trapping him on the ropes.  Prinsloo lands with a solid jab.  
Prinsloo tries to step out of his opponents range.  Mattas hits home with a spiteful jab.  
Mattas steps inside and is on target with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Prinsloo lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.

Prinsloo finds the target with a jab.  
Mattas lands a left hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mattas hits home with a solid cross.  
Mattas gets on the inside and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Mattas lands a ramrod jab.  
Prinsloo feints a jab, but Mattas ignores the feint and lands with a left uppercut.  
Mattas advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.  Mattas throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mattas lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Prinsloo tries to step out of his opponents range.  Mattas lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  Mattas throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mattas cuts off the ring, trapping Prinsloo on the ropes.  Mattas lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Mattas knows Prinsloo is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Mattas lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body, AND DROPS PRINSLOO!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Prinsloo now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Mattas steps inside.  Mattas digs in a right uppercut to Prinsloo's body.  
Prinsloo attempts to land a left hook, but Mattas blocks the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Mattas advances into close range.  Prinsloo throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Mattas steps inside.  Prinsloo throws a left hook, but Mattas ties up his opponent.  Mattas leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mattas advances into close range.  Prinsloo steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Mattas is whaling away with hooks, but Prinsloo keeps his defence tight.  Mattas crashes a mean right hook to Prinsloo's body.  PRINSLOO IS HURT!  Prinsloo quickly recovers. 
Mattas lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Prinsloo almost instantly gets his legs back. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Mattas's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Prinsloo's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Prinsloo's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Mattas closes the distance and crashes a mean left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  IT LOOKS LIKE PRINSLOO WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Mattas clinches his opponent.  Prinsloo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mattas behind the head. The ref breaks Mattas's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Prinsloo almost instantly recovers.

Mattas steps inside.  Mattas senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Prinsloo and just needs the right shot.  Mattas lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DROPS PRINSLOO!  He manages to get up at 8.  He doesnt look in good shape though! Prinsloo is still on wobbly legs as the ref signals that the fight is over.  The winner by TKO is Mattas!
