Rob Wake vs Peter Harp

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at North Shore Stadium, Auckland,  taking place on 31/07/2038:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Asia-Oceania Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Rob Wake (19(9) - 3(3)) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Peter Harp(52(48) - 0 - 1) from Melbourne, Australia.  Wake weighed in at 130 pounds, while Harp weighed in at 129 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Clinton Crail, and the three ringside judges are Opi Ngaikiha, James Oakley and Tua Patariki.  

Round 1: 

Wake lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Harp steps inside.  Wake lands a left hook.

Harp gets on the inside and attempts to land a left uppercut, but Wake blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Wake steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a jab, but Harp slips the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Harp sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Wake hits the target with a ramrod jab.  
Wake hits home with a sharp cross.  
Wake finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Wake strikes his opponents body with a jab.  Wake tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Harp gets on the inside and walks Wake down, trapping him in a corner.  Harp digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  As Harp tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Wake.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Harp is on target with a solid right uppercut.  
Harp lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Harp lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Wake steps away from his opponent.  Wake stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Harp hits home with a cross.  
Harp steps inside and manages to force Wake onto the ropes.  Harp lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Harp crashes a nasty right hook to Wake's ribs.  IT LOOKS LIKE WAKE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Harp senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Harp lands a right uppercut followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  Wake now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Wake's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Harp gets on the inside and forces Wake to back into the ropes.  Harp sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Wake hits home with a solid left uppercut.  
Wake drives a ramrod jab into his opponents face.

Wake tries to step out of his opponents range.  Harp is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Harp lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head, AND WAKE IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He remains on the canvas as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Harp!
