John Ruan vs Robert Thain

Boxing Daily Report from the Nicky Bonds promoted show at Yost Theater, Santa Ana,  taking place on 10/07/2038:

Clearly Nicky Bonds have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-California Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Ruan (31 - 12(1) - 2) who hails from Ontario, USA and Robert Thain(26(10) - 7(2) - 1) from Oceanside, USA.  Ruan weighed in at 134 pounds and 12 ounces, while Thain weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Hyland, and the three ringside judges are Bart Craw, Robert Christopher and Waleed Naqvi.  

Round 1: 

Thain lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Ruan steps away from his opponent and tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.

Thain forces Ruan to back into the ropes.  Thain is on target with a right hook to Ruan's body.  
Thain pivots to the left of his opponent.  Thain lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Thain holds on to his opponent.  Thain pushes his forearm into Ruan's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Thain about fouling.  
Thain throws a right uppercut, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Thain holds on to his opponent.  Ruan uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Thain behind the head. 
Thain is on target with a cross.  Thain attempts to land a cross, but Ruan parries the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Thain gets on the inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Thain lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Ruan throws a left hook, but Thain holds on to his opponent.  Thain is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ruan tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with a cross.  
Ruan drives a solid jab into his opponents face.  
Thain cuts off the ring, trapping Ruan in the blue corner.  Thain connects with a firm right hook.  
Ruan is looking to keep the action on the outside and tries to land a jab, but Thain sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook.  
Thain closes the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Thain closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ruan tries to keep the action at long range.  Thain sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Thain lands a spiteful jab.  Thain attempts to land an overhand left, but Ruan dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Thain gets on the inside and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Thain advances into close range.  Thain pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ruan's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Ruan's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Ruan steps away from his opponent and tries to land a jab, but Thain slips the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Thain advances into close range and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Thain ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Thain sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Thain digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  Thain ties up his opponent.  Thain is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.

Thain DETONATES a mean right hook on his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE RUAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Thain is looking to force the stoppage!  Thain is on target with a HUGE right hook.  RUAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is Thain!
