Mark Kwemoi vs Mark Mvurya

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Machakos promoted show at Athi River Karim, Athi River,  taking place on 28/06/2038:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya-Machakos Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mark Kwemoi (24(8) - 22(19)) who hails from Athi River, Kenya and Mark Mvurya(8 - 13(2) - 3) from Machakos, Kenya.  Both Kwemoi and Mvurya weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noah Litole, and the three ringside judges are Leighton Tumbo, Jamar Kosgei and Vashon Magut.  

Round 1: 

Kwemoi closes the distance and lands a stinging left hook.  Kwemoi ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kwemoi pushes his forearm into Mvurya's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Kwemoi about fouling.  
Kwemoi is on target with a left hook to Mvurya's body.  Kwemoi clinches his opponent.  Kwemoi leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mvurya connects with a left hook.  
Kwemoi is looking to close the distance.  Kwemoi pivots to the side of his opponent.  Mvurya attempts to land a right hook, but Kwemoi blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Kwemoi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mvurya throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kwemoi pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Kwemoi lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Kwemoi lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Kwemoi holds on to his opponent.  Kwemoi is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mvurya throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Kwemoi tries to keep the action at long range.  Kwemoi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a sharp cross.

Kwemoi steps inside.  Kwemoi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Kwemoi lands a cross.  
Kwemoi feints a left, and then lands a cross.  
Kwemoi is looking to close the distance.  Kwemoi pivots to the right of his opponent.  Kwemoi lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Kwemoi ties up his opponent.  Kwemoi is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Kwemoi digs in a telling right uppercut to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE MVURYA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Kwemoi closes the distance.  Mvurya could be stopped here, if Kwemoi can find the right shot!  Kwemoi lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body, AND DOWN GOES MVURYA!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Mvurya now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Kwemoi sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kwemoi tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mvurya steps inside.  Kwemoi lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Kwemoi connects with a cross.  
Kwemoi is looking to close the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mvurya dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Kwemoi sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Mvurya is looking to close the distance.  Kwemoi lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kwemoi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Mvurya steps inside.  Kwemoi sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mvurya's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Mvurya's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Mvurya's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Kwemoi lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Kwemoi clinches his opponent.  Kwemoi is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Kwemoi walks Mvurya down, trapping him in the red corner.  Kwemoi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a firm right hook.  
Kwemoi lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.

You can sense the frustration from Mvurya now.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed south of the border! The ref halts the action and sends Kwemoi to the neutral corner.    He warns Mvurya that he is heading for a point deduction.  
Kwemoi digs in a left hook to Mvurya's ribs.  
Mvurya steps inside.  Kwemoi drives a potent left hook into his opponents body.  MVURYA IS HURT!  
Some sustained pressure from Kwemoi could be enough to finish Mvurya!  Kwemoi digs in a weighty right hook to his opponents body.  MVURYA IS DOWN!  HE TRIES TO RISE BUT HIS LEGS DONT RESPOND...THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Kwemoi!
