Juan Berlanga vs Michael Kiangudi

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Stanford Stadium, San Francisco,  taking place on 07/08/2038:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the WRBA Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Juan Cobra Berlanga (63(49) - 1(1)) who hails from Bakersfield, USA and Michael Kiangudi(27(1) - 15(11)) from Soweto, South Africa.  Both Berlanga and Kiangudi weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Jones, and the three ringside judges are Paul Louden, Dylan Waddell and Tobias Brash.  

Round 1: 

Kiangudi is looking to close the distance.  Berlanga connects with a right hook.  
Kiangudi advances into close range.  Kiangudi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kiangudi throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Berlanga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Kiangudi digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Kiangudi attempts to land a left hook, but Berlanga blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Kiangudi is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but Berlanga clinches his opponent.  Berlanga throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Berlanga about fouling.  
Berlanga lands with a spiteful jab.  
Berlanga steps away from his opponent and hits home with a stiff jab.  Berlanga tries to land a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Kiangudi lands with a hard jab.  
Kiangudi advances into close range.  Berlanga lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Berlanga tries to step out of his opponents range and throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kiangudi advances into close range.  Berlanga throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Berlanga clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Kiangudi pushes his forearm into Berlanga's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kiangudi advances into close range and throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Kiangudi is looking to close the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Berlanga on the ropes.  Berlanga SLAMS a VICIOUS right hook into his opponents face.  KIANGUDI IS HURT!  
Berlanga is looking to force the stoppage!  Berlanga lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He then lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS KIANGUDI SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Kiangudi now seems to have his senses back.  
Berlanga finds the target with a jab.  
Kiangudi gets on the inside.  Berlanga throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Berlanga tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Berlanga lands a ramrod jab.  
Berlanga attempts to land a cross, but Kiangudi slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kiangudi closes the distance and forces Berlanga to retreat onto the ropes.  Berlanga lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Berlanga holds on to his opponent.  Berlanga leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Berlanga's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Berlanga lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Berlanga attempts to land a right hook, but Kiangudi slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Berlanga's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Kiangudi's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Berlanga lands a CRUSHING cross.  KIANGUDI WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Berlanga knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Berlanga is on target with a FEROCIOUS left hook.  KIANGUDI IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Berlanga connects with a mean right uppercut.  DOWN GOES KIANGUDI!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  Kiangudi now seems to have got his legs back.  
Berlanga is on target with an overhand right.  
Berlanga throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kiangudi closes the distance and is on target with a right hook to Berlanga's body.  
Kiangudi drives a sharp left hook into Berlanga's liver.  
Kiangudi is looking to close the distance.  Berlanga pivots from in front of his opponent and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Kiangudi forces Berlanga to back into the ropes.  Kiangudi pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Berlanga switches the action to the outside and throws an overhand right, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Berlanga's ribs.  
Kiangudi advances into close range.  Berlanga is on target with a left hook.  
Kiangudi attempts to land a left uppercut, but Berlanga blocks the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Berlanga tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a jab.

Kiangudi steps inside.  Berlanga lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body, AND DOWN GOES KIANGUDI!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Berlanga!
