Arthur Carrick vs Mick Morris

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at US Airway Center, Phoenix,  taking place on 31/07/2038:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-Arizona Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Arthur Carrick (20(10) - 1(1) - 1) who hails from Mesa, USA and Mick Morris(35(13) - 6) from Tucson, USA.  Both Carrick and Morris weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Morgan, and the three ringside judges are Lloyd Bath, Malcolm Gwynn and Vegas Frias.  

Round 1: 

Morris is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a stinging cross.  
Carrick steps inside and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Carrick tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Morris switches the action to the outside and lands with a solid jab.  Morris throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Morris lands a double jab to his opponents head.  Morris tries to land a jab, but Carrick blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Morris is on target with a left uppercut.  
Morris lands with a ramrod jab.  
Carrick advances into close range.  Carrick pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Morris quickly recovers. 
Carrick lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Morris tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with an overhand left.  
Carrick advances into close range.  Carrick pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Morris's liver.  
Carrick walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Carrick pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Carrick connects with a right hook.  
Carrick pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Carrick lands a right hook.  
Carrick connects with a left hook.  
Carrick pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Carrick lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Carrick sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Carrick quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Carrick tries to land a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Morris lands a right uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Morris is looking to keep his distance and lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Carrick gets on the inside.  Carrick pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Carrick pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Morris finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Carrick pivots to the right of his opponent.  Carrick connects with a right hook.  Carrick ties up his opponent.  Carrick is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Carrick about fouling.  
Carrick pivots to the left of his opponent.  Carrick throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Carrick manouvers Morris onto the ropes.  Carrick lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Morris dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Carrick pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a firm right hook.  
Carrick connects with a left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Morris's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Morris's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Carrick closes the distance.  Carrick quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Carrick lands a right hook.  
Carrick lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Carrick pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  
Carrick pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Carrick drives a right hook into Morris's body.  
Carrick is on target with a right hook to Morris's body.  
Morris lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Carrick connects with a VICIOUS right hook.  MORRIS IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Morris snaps his opponents head back with a ramrod jab.  
Carrick lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Morris manages to force Carrick onto the ropes.  Morris hits home with a cross.  
Morris steps to the outside.  Morris sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Morris tries to land a cross, but Carrick sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Carrick advances into close range.  Carrick pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Carrick lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Carrick closes the distance.  Carrick pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Carrick lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Carrick closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Carrick lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.

Morris is looking to keep his distance and tries to land a jab, but Carrick sidesteps and counters with a nasty right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE MORRIS WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Carrick advances into close range.  Carrick sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  It looks like Morris has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Morris sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Carrick lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Carrick lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Carrick closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Morris recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Carrick lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Carrick drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Morris hits home with a solid cross.  
Carrick stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Morris finds the target with a jab.

Morris quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Carrick connects with a left uppercut.  
Morris hits home with a spiteful jab.  
Carrick gets on the inside and lands a mean left uppercut.  MORRIS HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is Carrick!
