Gus Greig vs Colin Carrothers

Boxing Daily Report from the Top Shelf Prospects promoted show at UIC Pavilion, Chicago,  taking place on 22/08/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Gus Greig (0 - 0) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Colin Carrothers(9 - 23(1) - 3) from New York City, USA.  Greig weighed in at 160 pounds, while Carrothers weighed in at 159 pounds And 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Colin Karolewicz, and the three ringside judges are Joe Walls, Rob Dockter and Will Cockburn.  

Round 1: 

Greig lands a jab.  
Greig lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Greig is looking to close the distance and forces Carrothers to retreat into a neutral corner.  Greig pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Greig sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Greig digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Greig clinches his opponent.  Greig uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Carrothers behind the head. 
Greig pivots to the left of his opponent.  Greig lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Greig ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Greig pushes his forearm into Carrothers's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Greig.  
Greig feints a cross, and then lands a jab, left hook and a jab to his opponents head.  
Greig advances into close range.  Greig pivots to the left of his opponent.  Carrothers throws a right hook, but Greig ties up his opponent.  Greig leans on his opponent using all his weight. Greig hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Greig is on target with a firm left uppercut to Carrothers's ribs.  
Carrothers tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Carrothers steps inside and manages to force Greig onto the ropes.  Greig lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Greig lands a right hook.  
Greig connects with a right uppercut.  
Greig is looking to close the distance.  Carrothers throws a right hook, but Greig holds on to his opponent.  Greig leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Carrothers pushes his forearm into Greig's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Greig is looking to keep his distance and lands with a ramrod jab.  
Greig voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Carrothers is whaling away with hooks, but Greig keeps his defence tight.  
Carrothers gets on the inside.  Greig lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Carrothers closes the distance.  Greig drives a solid right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Greig drives a solid left hook into Carrothers's body.  
Greig steps away from his opponent.  Carrothers throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Greig is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Greig ties up his opponent.  Greig uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Carrothers's kidney. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Greig to stop fouling.  
Greig lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  He then lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Carrothers steps inside.  Greig lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Carrothers sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Greig lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carrothers's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Carrothers's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Greig lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Carrothers sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Greig lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Greig switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He then lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Greig is looking to close the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Greig dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Greig drives a sharp left hook into Carrothers's body.

He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, DROPPING CARROTHERS TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 8.  Carrothers quickly recovers.

You can sense the frustration from Carrothers now.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed south of the border! The ref halts the action and sends Greig to the neutral corner.    He tells Carrothers to clean up his game.  The ref's patience seems to be wearing thin.  
Carrothers quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Greig's ribs.  
Greig lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.
