Corey Smailes vs Mason Stine

Boxing Daily Report from the Eddie Burns promoted show at Crowne Plaza Hotel, San Diego,  taking place on 10/08/2037:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-California Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Corey Smailes (17 - 18(3) - 8 - 1(NC)) who hails from Oakland, USA and Stone Mason Stine(38(30) - 7(7) - 1) from Irvine, USA.  Both Smailes and Stine weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Clint Grullon, and the three ringside judges are Mason Boyter, Dillon Yeoman and Dale Short.  

Round 1: 

Stine closes the distance.  Smailes attempts to land a right hook, but Stine parries the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Stine throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps.  Stine ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Stine pushes his forearm into Smailes's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Stine.  
Stine pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Stine gets on the inside and lands a sharp right hook.  
Stine digs in a right hook to Smailes's body.  
Stine lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Smailes throws a right hook, but Stine holds on to his opponent.  Stine hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Stine connects with a firm right hook.  
Stine is looking to keep his distance.  Smailes is on target with a cross.  Smailes attempts to land an overhand left, but Stine sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Stine closes the distance and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Stine drives a right hook into his opponents body.  Stine holds on to his opponent.  Stine leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Stine lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Smailes steps inside.  Smailes sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Smailes attempts to land a left hook, but Stine sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Stine lands a left uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  Stine ties up his opponent.  Stine tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Smailes behind the head. 
Stine lands a right hook.  
Stine manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Smailes tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Stine hits home with a right hook.  
Smailes gets on the inside.  Stine lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Stine steps inside and walks Smailes onto the ropes.  Stine sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  
Stine connects with a left hook.  
Stine lands a double right hook to his opponents head, DROPPING SMAILES TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Smailes quickly recovers. 
Stine lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Stine forces Smailes to back into the corner.  Stine drives a stinging right uppercut into Smailes's ribcage.  
Stine pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Stine closes the distance and is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Smailes is on target with a right hook.  Stine clinches his opponent.  Stine is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Stine hits home with a firm right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Smailes's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Smailes's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Stine walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Smailes throws a right hook, but Stine clinches his opponent.  Stine is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Stine steps inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Stine pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Stine drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Stine drives a stinging right uppercut into his opponents ribs.  
Smailes pivots from in front of his opponent.  Smailes throws a left hook, but Stine ties up his opponent.  Smailes leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Stine feints a left, and then connects with a cross.  
Stine closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Stine clinches his opponent.  Stine is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Stine's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Stine pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Smailes's body.  
Stine lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Stine pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Stine hits home with a left hook.  
Stine is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  
Stine pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Stine walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Stine hits home with a left hook.  
Stine pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook, left hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Smailes quickly recovers. 
Smailes is looking to close the distance.  Stine pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, DROPPING SMAILES TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  
Stine lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Stine lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, DROPPING SMAILES TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Stine is looking to close the distance and manages to force Smailes onto the ropes.  Stine drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
Stine lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  Stine clinches his opponent.  Stine leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Stine uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Smailes behind the head. 
Stine drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  Stine ties up his opponent.  Stine tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Smailes's kidney.

Stine is on target with a nasty right uppercut.  SMAILES IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 7.  
Stine lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Smailes quickly recovers. 
Stine pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Stine is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Stine lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND SENDS SMAILES SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Stine!
