Claudio Traversa vs Rico Maurizio

Boxing Daily Report from the Italy National Finals 2042,  taking place on 26/03/2042 from Genoa, Italy:

The Genoa venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Claudio Traversa (46(8) - 19) who hails from Milan, Italy and Rico Maurizio(2 - 2) from Catania, Italy.  

Round 1: 

Maurizio sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Traversa lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Traversa gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Traversa lands a right uppercut, left hook and a jab to his opponents head.  
Maurizio lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Maurizio sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Maurizio tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook to Maurizio's ribs.  
Traversa is looking to close the distance and connects with a stinging left uppercut.  Traversa ties up his opponent.  Traversa is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Traversa lands a stinging cross.  
Traversa closes the distance and drives a stinging left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Traversa steps away from his opponent and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Traversa is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Traversa lands with a ramrod jab.  
Maurizio is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Traversa lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands an overhand right to the head, a cross to the head and a cross to the body.  
Traversa advances into close range and drives a firm left uppercut into Maurizio's body.  
Traversa pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Traversa EXPLODES a FEARSOME cross into his opponents face.  MAURIZIO HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Maurizio pivots from in front of his opponent, but Traversa lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Traversa closes the distance.  Maurizio is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  Maurizio attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Traversa's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Traversa is looking to close the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Traversa drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Traversa manouvers Maurizio onto the ropes.  Traversa is on target with a right hook to Maurizio's body.  
Traversa lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Traversa clinches his opponent.  Traversa leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Traversa walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Traversa quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Maurizio attempts to land a jab, but Traversa slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Maurizio digs in a solid right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Traversa steps inside and lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  Traversa clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Traversa pushes his forearm into Maurizio's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Traversa.  
Traversa lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Maurizio almost instantly recovers. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Traversa's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.

Traversa digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Maurizio steps to the outside.  Traversa is on target with a sharp overhand left.  
Maurizio manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Traversa lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Maurizio pivots to the right of his opponent and lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Traversa tries to step out of his opponents range and lands two consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Traversa tries to land an overhand left, but Maurizio blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Traversa is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Traversa lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND MAURIZIO IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  
Traversa lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES MAURIZIO!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Maurizio cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Traversa!
