Gennady Mucashev vs Jay Covington

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 05/11/2040 from Dushanbe, Tajikistan:

The Dushanbe venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Gennady Mucashev (84(24) - 6) who hails from Dushanbe, Tajikistan and Jay Covington(4 - 9(2)) from Sydney, Australia.  

Round 1: 

Mucashev hits home with a cross.

Mucashev gets on the inside and hits home with a solid right hook.  Mucashev clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Mucashev pushes his forearm into Covington's face.  The referee warns Mucashev and breaks the clinch.  
Covington lands a sharp cross.  
Mucashev closes the distance.  Mucashev pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Covington's ribs.  
Mucashev lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Mucashev ties up his opponent. Mucashev is looking to close the distance.  Covington throws a right hook, but Mucashev holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Covington pushes his forearm into Mucashev's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Covington to stop fouling.  
Mucashev finds the target with a hard jab.  
Mucashev gets on the inside and is on target with a right uppercut.  Mucashev clinches his opponent.  Mucashev is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Mucashev's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mucashev lands a sharp left uppercut.  
Covington finds the target with a jab.  
Covington switches the action to the outside.  Mucashev is on target with an overhand right.  
Covington steps away from his opponent.  Mucashev lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Mucashev gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Mucashev quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mucashev lands a left hook.  
Covington attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Mucashev's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Mucashev drives a sharp left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Mucashev tries to land a left uppercut, but Covington blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mucashev gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Covington hits home with a cross.  Covington tries to land a left hook, but Mucashev blocks the shot and counters with a BRUTAL right uppercut.  COVINGTON IS DOWN!  HE TRIES TO RISE ON SHAKY LEGS BUT COVINGTON CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Mucashev!
