Sergei Cartaev vs Akira Yanagi

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 24/08/2040 from Dushanbe, Tajikistan:

The Dushanbe venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Sergei Cartaev (63 - 3) who hails from Dushanbe, Tajikistan and Akira Yanagi(11 - 30) from Toyota, Japan.  

Round 1: 

Cartaev feints a cross, but Yanagi is not fooled and is on target with a solid cross.  
Cartaev is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Yanagi lands with a sharp jab.  Yanagi attempts to land a cross, but Cartaev sidesteps and counters with a solid left hook to Yanagi's body.

Yanagi gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Yanagi gets on the inside and forces Cartaev to retreat onto the ropes.  Yanagi throws a right hook, but Cartaev clinches his opponent.  Cartaev tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Yanagi's kidney. As they grapple, Cartaev pushes his forearm into Yanagi's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Cartaev about fouling.
