Jeraldo Barros vs Jiro Umemoto

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 09/06/2040 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil:

The Rio de Janeiro venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Jeraldo Barros (16 - 3) who hails from Sao Goncalo, Brazil and Jiro Umemoto(1 - 4) from Sendai, Japan.  

Round 1: 

Barros advances into close range and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Umemoto steps to the outside.  Barros is on target with a jab to his opponents body.  Barros attempts to land a jab, but Umemoto slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Barros tries to keep the action at long range.  Umemoto tries to land a jab, but Barros slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Barros walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Barros sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into Umemoto's liver.

Umemoto manouvers Barros into the corner.  Barros lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Barros tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Umemoto pivots from in front of his opponent, but Barros strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Barros lands a stiff jab.  
Barros drives a left hook into his opponents body.

Barros closes the distance and drives a left uppercut into Umemoto's body.  
Barros lands a left hook, left uppercut and a right uppercut to his opponents head.

Umemoto lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Umemoto pivots to the side of his opponent, but Barros connects with a right uppercut.  
Umemoto steps to the outside and lands a solid jab.  
Umemoto pivots to the right of his opponent, but Barros is on target with a cross.  
Barros lands a jab.  
Umemoto feints a right hook, and then lands with a stinging jab.  
Umemoto manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Barros lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Barros's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight. Umemoto's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!
