Goro Kanai vs Ian Blackstock

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 17/01/2040 from North Shore, New Zealand:

The North Shore venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Goro Kanai (24 - 21(1)) who hails from Asahikawa, Japan and Ian Blackstock(12 - 26(2)) from North Shore, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Kanai quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Blackstock pivots to the side of his opponent.  Kanai drives a stinging right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.  Kanai attempts to land a right uppercut, but Blackstock slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Blackstock hits home with a sharp left hook.  
Kanai attempts to land a right uppercut, but Blackstock blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Blackstock feints a left, and then lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Blackstock attempts to land a jab, but Kanai slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Blackstock steps inside.  Blackstock sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Blackstock pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Kanai forces Blackstock to retreat onto the ropes.  Kanai finds the target with a solid jab.  
Kanai drives a right hook into Blackstock's ribcage.  
Blackstock is on target with a solid left hook to his opponents liver.  
Kanai connects with a left hook.  
Kanai throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Blackstock is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  Blackstock clinches his opponent.  Blackstock uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Kanai's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Blackstock is looking to keep his distance and connects with a cross.  
Kanai lands a left uppercut.  
Blackstock switches the action to the outside.  Kanai lands a stinging cross.  
Kanai tries to land a jab, but Blackstock sidesteps and counters with a solid left hook.

As they grapple, Blackstock pushes his forearm into Kanai's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Blackstock about fouling.  
Kanai is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  
Blackstock is looking to keep his distance.  Kanai tries to land a cross, but Blackstock sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook.  
Blackstock feints a left hook, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Blackstock hits the target with a spiteful jab.  
Kanai closes the distance.  Blackstock connects with a solid right hook.  Blackstock clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Kanai pushes his forearm into Blackstock's face.  The referee warns Kanai and breaks the clinch.
