Goro Kanai vs Torsti Nurminen

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 09/12/2039 from Oulu, Finland:

The Oulu venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Goro Kanai (9 - 8(1)) who hails from Asahikawa, Japan and Torsti Nurminen(46 - 20(1)) from Oulu, Finland.  

Round 1: 

Kanai advances into close range and lands a solid left hook.  
Nurminen feints a left, and then hits home with a firm cross.  
Kanai switches the action to the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Kanai tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Kanai tries to step out of his opponents range.  Kanai sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Kanai connects with a cross.  Kanai throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Kanai gets on the inside.  Nurminen is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.

Nurminen digs in a left hook to Kanai's body.

Kanai gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but Nurminen clinches his opponent.  Kanai leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Nurminen leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Kanai tries to tag Nurminen on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!

Kanai closes the distance and throws a left hook, but Nurminen clinches his opponent.  Nurminen leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Kanai sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Nurminen lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Kanai closes the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Kanai tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Nurminen lands a right hook followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Kanai pivots to the side of his opponent, but Nurminen drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Kanai throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a powerful right hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE KANAI WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Kanai almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Kanai attempts to land a cross, but Nurminen dodges the shot and counters with a right hook to Kanai's body.  
Kanai closes the distance and lands a left hook.

Kanai is looking to close the distance.  Nurminen crashes a mean left hook to Kanai's liver.  KANAI WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Kanai quickly recovers.

Kanai sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Nurminen drives a jab into Kanai's body.  
Nurminen lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Kanai steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Kanai pivots from in front of his opponent, but Nurminen lands a jab to the head, a jab to the body and a cross to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Kanai recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Kanai's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!  Nurminen's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
