Andy Saul vs Anton Vasiliev

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 28/11/2039 from Minneapolis, USA:

The Minneapolis venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Andy Saul (85(18) - 11) who hails from Saint Paul, USA and Anton Vasiliev(8 - 9(1)) from Biysk, Russia.  

Round 1: 

Saul closes the distance and is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Vasiliev walks his opponent into the red corner.  Vasiliev lands a cross.  
Saul lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Vasiliev steps away from his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Saul advances into close range and drives a solid left hook into Vasiliev's body.  Saul holds on to his opponent.  Saul leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Saul lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Saul lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Saul closes the distance and lands a firm left hook.  
Saul lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Saul steps inside.  Vasiliev throws a right hook, but Saul holds on to his opponent.  Vasiliev tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Saul behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Saul closes the distance.  Saul sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Vasiliev is on target with a right hook to Saul's ribcage.  
Saul manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Vasiliev tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Saul connects with a left uppercut.  
Saul quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Saul is looking to close the distance and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents liver.  Saul ties up his opponent.  Saul leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Vasiliev pushes his forearm into Saul's face.  The ref breaks Saul's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Saul lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Saul sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Vasiliev hits home with a right uppercut.

Vasiliev throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Saul walks Vasiliev down, trapping him on the ropes.  Saul hits home with a hard jab.  
Vasiliev is on target with a cross.  
Saul advances into close range and lands a firm left uppercut.  
Saul is looking to close the distance.  Saul sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Saul lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Saul tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Saul senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Vasiliev and just needs the right shot.  Saul lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND DROPS VASILIEV!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  It looks like Vasiliev has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Saul hits home with a stinging cross.  
Saul gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  
Vasiliev throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Saul ties up his opponent.  Saul pushes his forearm into Vasiliev's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Saul lands a right hook.  
Saul finds the target with a jab.  
Saul closes the distance and lands a firm right hook.  
Saul gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Saul holds on to his opponent.  Saul is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Saul lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Saul closes the distance and connects with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Vasiliev's trainer is telling his fighter he needs a knockout to win!

Saul closes the distance.  Vasiliev is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Saul digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Saul walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Saul pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Saul tries to land a jab, but Vasiliev sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Vasiliev steps to the outside.  Saul lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Saul attempts to land a left uppercut, but Vasiliev blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Saul pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a potent right hook.  VASILIEV WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Vasiliev recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Vasiliev lands a stinging cross.  
Saul steps inside and digs in a solid right hook to his opponents body.  
Saul gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook.  
Saul lands a jab followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Saul digs in a left uppercut to Vasiliev's body.  
Saul advances into close range.  Vasiliev throws a left hook, but Saul clinches his opponent.  Vasiliev is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Vasiliev about fouling.  
Saul tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Vasiliev is on target with a right uppercut.  
Saul is looking to close the distance and lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND VASILIEV IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He isnt going to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Saul!
