Santiago Mateo vs Mel Forsythe

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 23/12/2038 from Montevideo, Uruguay:

The Montevideo venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Santiago Mateo (36(13) - 20) who hails from Montevideo, Uruguay and Mel Forsythe(13 - 10) from Nottingham, UK.  

Round 1: 

Forsythe quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Mateo digs in a left hook to Forsythe's body.  
Forsythe is on target with a left hook.  
Mateo hits home with a firm cross.  
Mateo is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to Forsythe's body.  
Mateo connects with a left hook.  Mateo throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mateo forces Forsythe to back into the corner.  Mateo lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Mateo throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Mateo holds on to his opponent.  Forsythe pushes his forearm into Mateo's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mateo walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Mateo lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Mateo is on target with a left uppercut.  Mateo clinches his opponent.  Mateo is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Forsythe throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a FEROCIOUS right hook.  FORSYTHE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Forsythe almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Mateo closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Mateo walks his opponent down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Mateo throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Mateo ties up his opponent.  Mateo pushes his forearm into Forsythe's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mateo.  
Mateo advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mateo is looking to close the distance and hits home with a firm right hook.  
Mateo lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Mateo is on target with a stinging right hook.  Mateo holds on to his opponent.  Mateo uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Forsythe behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mateo pivots to the left of his opponent.  Forsythe throws a left hook, but Mateo holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Forsythe is on target with a cross.  
Mateo advances into close range and lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES FORSYTHE!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  Mateo ties up his opponent.  Mateo leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Forsythe pushes his forearm into Mateo's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Forsythe about fouling.  Forsythe almost instantly gets his legs back.

Round 2: 

Forsythe connects with a firm left hook.  Mateo holds on to his opponent.  Forsythe throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Mateo leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Mateo's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mateo lands a left hook, right hook and a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Mateo knows Forsythe is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Mateo lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head, DROPPING FORSYTHE TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Forsythe now seems to have got his legs back.  
Forsythe drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Mateo lands a cross.  
Mateo is looking to close the distance and attempts to land a right hook, but Forsythe sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Mateo lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Mateo senses Forsythe is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Mateo lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS FORSYTHE!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  It looks like Forsythe has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Forsythe tries to step out of his opponents range and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Forsythe hits home with a left hook.  
Mateo lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head, AND SENDS FORSYTHE SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He isnt going to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Mateo!
