Roger Laird vs Steven Shiel

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 04/12/2038 from Quebec City, Canada:

The Quebec City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Roger Laird (36 - 10) who hails from Laval, Canada and Steven Shiel(7 - 13) from Calgary, Canada.  

Round 1: 

Laird finds the target with a jab.  Laird tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Shiel steps to the outside.  Laird lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Laird steps to the outside and connects with an overhand left.  
Shiel gets on the inside.  Shiel pivots to the side of his opponent, but Laird hits home with a solid right hook.  
Laird finds the target with a jab.  
Laird lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Laird attempts to land a cross, but Shiel slips the shot and counters with a left hook.

Laird feints a jab and triggers a left uppercut counter from Shiel.  Laird springs the trap, countering with  a solid right uppercut.

Laird steps to the outside.  Laird drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Shiel tries to land a jab, but Laird sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Shiel advances into close range and manouvers Laird into the corner.  Laird lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Laird tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land an overhand right, but Shiel blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Laird drives a jab into Shiel's body.  
Shiel closes the distance.  Shiel pivots to the side of his opponent, but Laird hits home with a left hook.  
Shiel is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Shiel closes the distance.  Laird digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Shiel is looking to close the distance.  Laird connects with a sharp left hook.
