Andy Saul vs Ponce Martinez

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 20/10/2038 from Minneapolis, USA:

The Minneapolis venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Andy Saul (70(9) - 11) who hails from Saint Paul, USA and Ponce Martinez(4 - 8(1)) from Tegucigalpa, Honduras.  

Round 1: 

Martinez is on target with a jab.  
Saul steps inside.  Saul quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Saul hits home with a sharp left hook.  Saul clinches his opponent.  Martinez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Saul lands a ramrod jab.  
Martinez is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Saul is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Martinez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Martinez tries to land a right hook, but Saul blocks the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Saul steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Saul holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Martinez pushes his forearm into Saul's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Saul lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Saul connects with a solid cross.  
Saul is looking to close the distance and forces Martinez to back into the ropes.  Saul lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Saul drives a forceful left hook into his opponents liver.  IT LOOKS LIKE MARTINEZ WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Saul senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Saul lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Martinez now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Martinez is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Saul lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Saul gets on the inside and digs in a firm right hook to his opponents ribs.  Saul ties up his opponent.  Martinez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Martinez sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Martinez throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Saul is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Saul lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Saul connects with a firm left hook.  
Saul lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Saul hits home with a stinging right uppercut.

Saul is looking to close the distance and drives a sharp right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Saul hits home with a solid left uppercut.  
Saul walks Martinez onto the ropes.  Saul lands a right hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Saul pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a firm right uppercut to Martinez's body.  
Saul quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Saul steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Martinez recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Saul gets on the inside and connects with a solid left hook.  
Martinez feints a right, and then throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Saul gets on the inside and digs in a right hook to Martinez's body.  
Saul closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Saul lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Saul lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Saul sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head, AND MARTINEZ IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 9.  Martinez recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Martinez throws a right hook, but Saul clinches his opponent.  Saul leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Saul uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Martinez behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Saul lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head, AND DROPS MARTINEZ TO THE CANVAS!  The count reaches 10, but Martinez is unable to get up!  The winner by KO is Saul!
