Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 24/06/2038 from New York City, USA:

The New York City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Ian Smith (60(1) - 7) who hails from New York City, USA and Gareth Tweedle(0 - 9(1)) from San Antonio, USA.  

Round 1: 

Smith is on target with a sharp left hook to Tweedle's body.  
Tweedle pivots to the left of his opponent, but Smith lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Tweedle is looking to close the distance and manouvers Smith onto the ropes.  Smith hits home with a left hook.  
Smith lands with a stinging jab.  
Smith snaps his opponents head back with a solid jab.  
Smith is looking to close the distance.  Smith pivots to the left of his opponent.  Smith tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Smith sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Smith is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  Smith holds on to his opponent.  Smith leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Smith pivots to the side of his opponent.  Tweedle attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Smith's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Smith retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Tweedle accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Smith.  
Tweedle is looking to close the distance.  Smith lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Smith lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Smith lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Tweedle pivots from in front of his opponent.  Tweedle drives a left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  Smith holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Smith pushes his forearm into Tweedle's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Smith lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Smith clinches his opponent.  Smith is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Smith and breaks the clinch.  
Smith lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Smith lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Smith digs in a left hook to Tweedle's body.  
Tweedle gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but Smith clinches his opponent.  Smith uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Tweedle behind the head. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Smith's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.
