Boxing Daily Report from the South Africa National Finals 2038,  taking place on 02/05/2038 from Germiston, South Africa:

The Germiston venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have the Final of the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Mahdi Gyimah (20 - 19) who hails from Roodepoort, South Africa and Mashawn Poku(21(5) - 12) from Pretoria, South Africa.  

Round 1:

Poku lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Poku manouvers Gyimah onto the ropes.  Poku lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Poku connects with a left uppercut.  Poku clinches his opponent.  Poku pushes his forearm into Gyimah's face.  The referee warns Poku and breaks the clinch.  
Poku lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Poku steps inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Gyimah on the ropes.  Poku is on target with a left uppercut.  
Gyimah tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a jab.  Gyimah tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Poku is looking to close the distance and is on target with a stinging left hook to Gyimah's body.

Gyimah sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Gyimah tries to land a jab, but Poku slips the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Poku throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Poku holds on to his opponent.  Poku tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gyimah behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Poku walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Poku lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Gyimah throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Poku lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Poku attempts to land a right uppercut, but Gyimah sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Poku drives a left hook into Gyimah's liver.  
Poku lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Poku forces Gyimah to retreat into a corner.  Poku whips in a mean left hook to his opponents body.  GYIMAH HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
The right shot from Poku could be enough to force the stoppage!  Poku lands a left hook followed by  two right uppercuts to his opponents body.  He then lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Poku slams a big left uppercut into Gyimah's body.  GYIMAH IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 6.  It looks like Gyimah has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Poku pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Poku lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Gyimah almost instantly recovers. 
Poku lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Poku knows Gyimah is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Poku lands a right hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES GYIMAH!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Poku!
