Rob Craib vs Sid Slaight

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 01/04/2038 from New York City, USA:

The New York City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Rob Craib (65(10) - 7) who hails from New York City, USA and Sid Slaight(0 - 3) from Indianapolis, USA.  

Round 1: 

Craib is looking to close the distance.  Craib pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Craib strikes his opponents body with a jab.  Craib tries to land a jab, but Slaight sidesteps and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Craib connects with a left hook.  
Craib backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Slaight steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Slaight lands a sharp right hook.  
Craib gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  He then lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Craib ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Craib pushes his forearm into Slaight's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Craib about fouling.  
Craib steps away from his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Craib advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
Slaight throws a left hook, but Craib holds on to his opponent.  Craib is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Craib lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Craib lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Slaight lands a solid right uppercut.  
Craib tries to keep the action at long range and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Craib gets on the inside.  Slaight hits home with a right hook.  
Slaight closes the distance.  Slaight pivots to the side of his opponent, but Craib connects with a sharp right hook.  
Craib hits home with a stinging right hook.  
Slaight gets on the inside.  Slaight throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Craib's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Craib lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Slaight closes the distance and throws a right hook, but Craib holds on to his opponent.  Slaight pushes his forearm into Craib's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Slaight to stop fouling.  
Craib hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Slaight tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Craib lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Slaight sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Craib lands a jab, left hook and a cross to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Craib's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.

Slaight closes the distance.  Craib lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Craib holds on to his opponent.  Craib uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Slaight behind the head. The referee warns Craib and breaks the clinch.  
Craib tries to step out of his opponents range.  Craib thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Slaight away.  Craib lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head, KNOCKING SLAIGHT DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  It looks like Slaight has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Craib lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Craib hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Craib lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.  
Craib lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Craib connects with a cross.  
Craib lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Craib switches the action to the outside and lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.

Slaight gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Craib ties up his opponent.  Craib leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Craib's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Craib steps to the outside and lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Slaight quickly recovers. 
Craib lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Craib lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Craib lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Craib switches the action to the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  Craib tries to land a jab, but Slaight slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Slaight closes the distance.  Craib lands a FEROCIOUS right uppercut.  SLAIGHT IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 5.  Craib holds on to his opponent.  Craib leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.
