Alberto Perina vs Vico Lippi

Boxing Daily Report from the Italy National Finals 2038,  taking place on 29/03/2038 from Bologna, Italy:

The Bologna venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Alberto Perina (6 - 4) who hails from Prato, Italy and Vico Lippi(23(9) - 9) from Naples, Italy.  

Round 1: 

Perina switches the action to the outside and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Lippi closes the distance.  Lippi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Perina tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a stinging overhand right.  Perina attempts to land a jab, but Lippi slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut to Perina's body.

Perina tries to keep the action at long range and throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Lippi connects with a right hook.  
Lippi lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS PERINA TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Lippi walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Lippi senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Lippi lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND PERINA IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  It looks like Perina has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Lippi advances into close range and forces Perina to retreat into the corner.  Lippi digs in a left hook to Perina's ribs.  
Lippi drives a solid left hook into Perina's body.  
Lippi closes the distance.  Lippi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Lippi lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Lippi holds on to his opponent.  Lippi is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Lippi and breaks the clinch.  
Perina lands a jab to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a jab to the head.  
Lippi closes the distance and digs in a right hook to Perina's body.  
Perina is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross.  Perina throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a spiteful left uppercut.  PERINA IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 7.  
Lippi manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Perina drives a right hook into his opponents body.  Lippi clinches his opponent.  Lippi leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Lippi connects with a solid left uppercut.  Lippi ties up his opponent.  Lippi is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Lippi lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Perina tries to step out of his opponents range.  Lippi finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Perina is looking to keep the action on the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Lippi sidesteps and counters with a solid left hook.  
Lippi steps inside and walks Perina onto the ropes.  Lippi throws a left hook, but is off-target.  Lippi clinches his opponent.  Lippi pushes his forearm into Perina's face.  The ref breaks Lippi's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Perina sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Perina throws a left hook, but Lippi holds on to his opponent.  Lippi is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Lippi slams a big left hook into Perina's body.  PERINA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Perina almost instantly recovers. 
Lippi manages to force Perina onto the ropes.  Perina is on target with a right hook.  
Lippi lands a solid right hook.  
Lippi lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Lippi is on target with a right uppercut to Perina's body.  Lippi ties up his opponent.  Lippi tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Perina behind the head. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Perina's trainer is telling his fighter he needs a knockout to win!

Lippi lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head, KNOCKING PERINA DOWN!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Lippi!
