Roger Laird vs Neil Balmer

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 26/12/2037 from Quebec City, Canada:

The Quebec City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Roger Laird (25 - 9) who hails from Laval, Canada and Neil Balmer(0 - 4) from Vancouver, Canada.  

Round 1: 

Balmer steps inside.  Laird digs in a right uppercut to Balmer's ribcage.

Balmer quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.

Balmer advances into close range.  Balmer goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Laird time to recover.  
Laird steps away from his opponent and snaps his opponents head back with a sharp jab.

Balmer manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Laird lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Balmer closes the distance and throws a right hook, but Laird ties up his opponent.  Laird pushes his forearm into Balmer's face.  The ref breaks Laird's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Balmer digs in a right hook to Laird's body.  
Laird tries to keep the action at long range and lands a solid cross.  
Laird throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps.  Laird ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Balmer pushes his forearm into Laird's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Laird hits home with a spiteful jab.

Balmer gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.
