Chris Habe vs Mark Asamoah

Boxing Daily Report from the Ghana National Finals 2036,  taking place on 29/03/2036 from Takoradi, Ghana:

The Takoradi venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Chris Habe (8 - 0) who hails from Accra, Ghana and Mark Asamoah(13(4) - 4) from Kumasi, Ghana.  

Round 1: 

Habe hits home with a stiff jab.  
Habe is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Habe lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Habe tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Asamoah closes the distance.  Habe lands a left hook.

Asamoah gets on the inside.  Habe tries to land a left hook, but Asamoah sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Habe tries to keep the action at long range.  Habe sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Asamoah closes the distance and drives a right hook into Habe's ribs.  
Habe steps to the outside and hits home with a sharp jab.  
Asamoah steps inside and forces Habe to back into the ropes.  Asamoah digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Asamoah lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Asamoah clinches his opponent.  Asamoah leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Habe recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Asamoah digs in a right uppercut to Habe's body.  
Habe lands a cross to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Asamoah lands a cross.  
Habe steps away from his opponent and throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Asamoah advances into close range and tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Asamoah throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Asamoah clinches his opponent.  Asamoah leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Asamoah is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Habe tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab.

Habe sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.

Asamoah advances into close range and walks Habe onto the ropes.  Asamoah lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Asamoah throws a left uppercut, but is not on target.  Asamoah clinches his opponent.  Asamoah is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Asamoah's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Habe switches the action to the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Asamoah cuts off the ring, trapping Habe on the ropes.  Asamoah drives a firm right hook into Habe's ribcage.  
Asamoah lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Habe steps to the outside and lands a cross, jab and an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Asamoah advances into close range.  Asamoah pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Habe tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with a jab to Asamoah's body.  
Asamoah advances into close range and drives a solid left uppercut into Habe's ribs.  
Habe steps away from his opponent and is on target with a stinging jab.  
Habe hits home with an overhand right.  
Habe connects with an overhand left.

Habe steps away from his opponent.  Asamoah stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Asamoah whips in a nasty right hook to his opponents ribs.  HABE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Habe now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Habe tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Habe is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Asamoah gets on the inside and is on target with a solid left hook to Habe's body.  
Asamoah walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Habe is on target with a left hook.  
Habe steps away from his opponent and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Asamoah advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Asamoah lands a solid right hook.  Asamoah holds on to his opponent.  Asamoah throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Asamoah tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Habe's kidney. 
Asamoah pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.

Asamoah forces Habe to retreat into the blue corner.  Asamoah senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Asamoah lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS HABE!  He beats the count, getting up at 7.  Habe now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Asamoah throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Asamoah holds on to his opponent.  Asamoah tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Habe behind the head. The ref breaks Asamoah's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Asamoah lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Habe hits home with a spiteful jab.  
Asamoah lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, KNOCKING HABE DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Asamoah!
