Amateur Fighters?

I'm wondering what's the best setting for your assistant to take control of Amateur fighters at your gym?

It might be better than having all these vague options to simply let the Assistant automatically control Amateur fighters in a default setting rather than go through the rigmarole of organizing this and that, seems to me to be an unnecessary complication in the game to be honest.

I've never signed anyone from my Amateur setup, they're just not at all compelling and it seems like an extreme case of good luck to get even one fighter at all during the entire course a game's iteration.

With all the facilities available, top gym, top trainers, why are they all so trash? Maybe I'm wrong but I suggest for all just to cut out the fluff and have an optimum default setting.

your assistant doesn't have any influence on how good your amateurs turn out in terms of stats.  that is random generation with the likelihood of good stats increasing with your gym's trainers, equipment, facilities etc.

the only thing your assistant may do is matchmake to try progressing the fighter in class or experience, and thats it.

i have had a few goes at getting better amateurs generated who can go on and become great pros - there is definitely a weird situation where nearly every 800+ class fighter has no amateur background.  still a lot more work to do in this area, but i have to be careful as even a slight tweak could send us the other way and result in too many good fighters (as there are 10s of thousands of gyms)

That's fair enough, I don't like the whole "Assistant Options" segment of Increase Experience/Steady progress/Accelerated Progress and Overseas Yes/No however. It feels like a complete waste of time and I would like it all to simply be automated under the Assistant in a default fashion for all Amateurs globally.

The factor that could stop thousands of gyms from producing viable talent could be the quality of the gym's equipment and the quality of the trainers, that should cut out thousands of gyms too that don't fit the qualitative bill.

I've invested a lot in my gym/trainers and they have produced absolutely NOTHING when it comes to amateurs. 0 talent, that can't be right.

Same as Sumito,

Amateur were way better in the first version, as you could find some gems now and then.
In this version, I've not sign anyone from my amateur gym as they're absolute garbage. Even amateur that win some amateur tournament, like national or even olympic are not becoming great fighters...

Have to agree here ....I've had 0 fighters go from amateur to good pro ..... Best fun in the game to me is taking an 18 year old 0-0 fighter and working him to the top having him develop and rank up working out of your own gym ,

What is weird, is basically the same code is used to produce the amateurs as is used to produce the start up fighters. Yet nearly every world class fighter is a start up one.

So clearly something not working.

I'm having another go this weekend.

Put in a change for promoter controlled gym's fighter production.

Basically, when you get a fighter generated in a 900+ reputation gym, there should be a 12% chance that an "elite amateur" is produced.  These are amateurs who should start with decent stats for their style from the beginning, start with a higher am class, and start with some style experience so they can win fights at a decent level from when they are generated.  Lower rep gyms can produce elites as well, but at a lower rate

This has been in for a while but i noticed the potential stats might not have been working so their "good" attributes didn't increase.

However, i have had a look in the database and found 59 "elite ams" generated by promoter controlled gyms, some of whom are world/olympic champs.  These are the product of change i put in a while ago, so i think it is working, but its just that they haven't arrived in the pro game yet.

what i'll do is put in another change in the amateur fighter screen and search so you can see those generated as "elites".

By the way, as ever Chin seems to be a little low for too many fighters so i'll tweak this as well

i have now added "elite" to the filter of your gym so you can see if any of your gyms have had this type of fighter generated.  also am boxers who have been generated in this way will have (elite) after their am record.

In the search amateur screen, i have added a checkbox so you can search for elite fighters, but it will only bring back ones with class over 500 as any less than this will be considered uknown outside their gym
