David Sharratt vs David Whittet

Boxing Daily Report from the Lionheart Promotions promoted show at Auckland Borland, Auckland,  taking place on 30/08/2039:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are David Sharratt (3 - 11 - 3) who hails from North Shore, New Zealand and David Whittet(1 - 0) from North Shore, New Zealand.  Both Sharratt and Whittet weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brin Stackpole, and the three ringside judges are Joshua Haile, Joe Prosser and Mark Kinzey.  

Round 1: 

Whittet lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Whittet is on target with a jab.  
Sharratt tries to keep the action at long range.  Whittet is on target with a sharp overhand right.  
Whittet steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Sharratt is looking to close the distance.  Whittet drives a left hook into Sharratt's ribs.  
Whittet lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Sharratt tries to step out of his opponents range.  Whittet lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Whittet gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Whittet drives a solid right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Whittet closes the distance and throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Sharratt tries to keep the action at long range and throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Whittet hits home with a right uppercut.  Whittet clinches his opponent.  Whittet pushes his forearm into Sharratt's face.  The ref breaks Whittet's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Whittet lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Whittet gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  Whittet holds on to his opponent.  Whittet is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Whittet.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sharratt's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Sharratt's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Whittet steps inside.  Whittet quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Whittet digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Whittet clinches his opponent.  Whittet is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Whittet walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Whittet is on target with a sharp left hook to Sharratt's body.  
Whittet lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Whittet holds on to his opponent.  Whittet uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Sharratt behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Whittet steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Whittet is on target with a right uppercut.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Sharratt dabs at his face checking for damage.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Sharratt has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.  
Whittet is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Whittet ties up his opponent.  Whittet is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.
