John Ross vs Barry McAndrew

Boxing Daily Report from the Granite Chin Promotions promoted show at Temple University McGonigle Hall, Philadelphia,  taking place on 04/08/2039:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Ross (9(6) - 0) who hails from Mesa, USA and Barry McAndrew(20 - 15(2)) from Charlotte, USA.  Both Ross and McAndrew weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is John Craigen, and the three ringside judges are Ben Begue, Dominic Hinault and Richard Finnegan.  

Round 1: 

Ross lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Ross closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Ross walks his opponent into the corner.  Ross pivots from in front of his opponent.  Ross tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to McAndrew.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Ross lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Ross pivots to the side of his opponent and strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Ross advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ross gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  
Ross hits home with a right hook.  
Ross is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ross lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  Ross ties up his opponent.  Ross leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Ross is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ross walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Ross lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ross lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Ross is on target with a stinging right uppercut.  
Ross lands a sharp left hook.  
Ross switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Ross closes the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Ross throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Ross switches the action to the outside.  McAndrew sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a cross to Ross's body.  
Ross advances into close range.  McAndrew pivots from in front of his opponent.  McAndrew throws a left hook, but Ross ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Ross pushes his forearm into McAndrew's face.  The referee warns Ross and breaks the clinch.  
Ross lands a left hook, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Ross lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Ross lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
McAndrew gets on the inside.  Ross digs in a right uppercut to McAndrew's body.  
Ross advances into close range and lands a right hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McAndrew's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McAndrew's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Ross walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ross connects with a stinging right uppercut.  
Ross lands a right uppercut.  
Ross switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Ross feints a cross, tricking McAndrew into launching a left uppercut counter.  Ross springs the trap and counters with  a firm right hook.  
Ross closes the distance and hits home with a firm right hook.  
McAndrew sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Ross lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  McAndrew quickly recovers. 
McAndrew gets on the inside.  Ross lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Ross ties up his opponent.  Ross is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Ross's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ross hits home with a right hook.  
Ross is on target with a cross.  
McAndrew pivots to the side of his opponent.  Ross lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ross tries to step out of his opponents range and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Ross lands a spiteful jab.  
McAndrew tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ross is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the head.  
McAndrew connects with a cross.  McAndrew tries to land a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Ross steps inside.  Ross sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to McAndrew's liver.

Ross throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Ross holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Ross pushes his forearm into McAndrew's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Ross to stop fouling.  
McAndrew throws a left hook, but Ross holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ross lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Ross feints a cross, and then lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Ross gets on the inside and connects with a right hook.

Ross is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Ross lands a WICKED left hook.  MCANDREW HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE TRIES TO RISE ON SHAKY LEGS BUT MCANDREW CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Ross!
