Dave Valencia vs Leighton Faulds

Boxing Daily Report from the Iddrisu Promotions promoted show at Tacoma Vargas, Tacoma,  taking place on 06/07/2039:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Washington Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dave Valencia (2 - 1 - 1) who hails from Spokane, USA and Leighton Faulds(9 - 3 - 3) from Tacoma, USA.  Both Valencia and Faulds weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Stoddart, and the three ringside judges are Arnie Beaumarchais, John Jean-Baptiste and Cole Cassel.  

Round 1: 

Valencia lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Faulds waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Valencia tries to land a right hook, but Faulds sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Faulds hits home with an overhand left.  
Faulds walks his opponent into the corner.  Valencia attempts to land a right hook, but Faulds sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Valencia is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a cross.  
Valencia lands a jab.  
Valencia tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land a jab, but Faulds sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Valencia tries to step out of his opponents range and lands an overhand left.  
Faulds sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Valencia wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Faulds dabs at his face checking for damage.  Faulds has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Faulds sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Faulds tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.
