Pekka Vatanen vs Fresco Torrez

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Stanford Stadium, San Francisco,  taking place on 17/08/2039:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Pekka Vatanen (25(20) - 0) who hails from Tampere, Finland and Fresco Torrez(30(5) - 22(16)) from Managua, Nicaragua.  Both Vatanen and Torrez weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Cant, and the three ringside judges are John Vaughn, Lewis Suttie and Malcolm Mayorga.  

Round 1: 

Vatanen lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Vatanen drives a right hook into Torrez's ribs.  Vatanen clinches his opponent.  Vatanen pushes his forearm into Torrez's face.  The referee warns Vatanen and breaks the clinch.

Torrez walks his opponent into the corner.  Torrez sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Vatanen lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Vatanen clinches his opponent.  Vatanen leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Vatanen gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  Vatanen clinches his opponent.  Vatanen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Vatanen connects with a sharp right hook.  Vatanen clinches his opponent.  Torrez is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Torrez and breaks the clinch.  
Torrez lands a cross.  Torrez tries to land a jab, but Vatanen slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Torrez attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Vatanen to the neutral corner.  He tells Torrez he will lose a point if he continues to foul.  
Vatanen is looking to close the distance.  Torrez digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Torrez throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Vatanen clinches his opponent.  Vatanen leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Vatanen is on target with a solid cross.  
Vatanen lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Vatanen advances into close range and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Torrez almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Vatanen is on target with a firm left hook.  Vatanen holds on to his opponent.  Vatanen leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Vatanen lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Vatanen lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Torrez attempts to land a jab, but Vatanen sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Torrez's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Torrez's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Torrez throws a left uppercut, but Vatanen clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Vatanen pushes his forearm into Torrez's face.  The referee warns Vatanen and breaks the clinch.  
Torrez throws a right hook, but Vatanen clinches his opponent.  Torrez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Vatanen to stop holding.  
Vatanen is on target with a spiteful left hook.  TORREZ WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Torrez recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Vatanen digs in a firm right hook to his opponents body.  
Vatanen lands a solid cross.  
Vatanen closes the distance.  Torrez drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Vatanen lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Vatanen throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Vatanen ties up his opponent.  Torrez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Vatanen to stop holding.  
Vatanen walks Torrez down, trapping him in the corner.  Vatanen lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Vatanen drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Torrez tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a FIERCE right uppercut.  TORREZ IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.

Vatanen is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Vatanen walks Torrez onto the ropes.  Vatanen lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Vatanen is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Vatanen slams a big right hook into Torrez's ribs.  TORREZ HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 7.  
Vatanen lands a left hook, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Vatanen!
