Cody Aplaon vs Farhan Mattar

Boxing Daily Report from the Ringside Promotions promoted show at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Manila,  taking place on 25/06/2039:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Asian Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on ABS Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Cody Aplaon (43(31) - 6(1) - 4) who hails from General Trias, Philippines and Farhan Mattar(25(5) - 7(4)) from Johor Bahru, Malaysia.  Aplaon weighed in at 153 pounds and 15 ounces, while Mattar weighed in at 153 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Miguel Bayudan, and the three ringside judges are Ignado Pamon, Vicente Macasieb and Daniel Magtubo.  

Round 1: 

Mattar attempts to land a jab, but Aplaon sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mattar is on target with a cross.  
Aplaon attempts to land a cross, but Mattar slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Aplaon advances into close range.  Aplaon lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  As Mattar tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Aplaon dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mattar steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Aplaon lands with a sharp jab.  
Mattar voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Aplaon steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Aplaon is looking to close the distance and is on target with a right uppercut.  
Mattar lands a firm jab to his opponents body.  
Aplaon advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Aplaon lands a cross to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Aplaon closes the distance.  Aplaon pivots to the side of his opponent andAs Mattar tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Aplaon dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Aplaon lands a solid left uppercut.  Aplaon tries to land a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Aplaon is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Aplaon drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Aplaon lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Aplaon sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mattar is on target with a right hook.  
Mattar is on target with a stiff jab.  
Aplaon gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Aplaon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Mattar's body.  
Aplaon gets on the inside and digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Aplaon tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Aplaon connects with a solid cross.  
Aplaon gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Mattar tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a cross.  
Aplaon attempts to land a cross, but Mattar sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Aplaon drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Mattar lands a cross.  
Mattar throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a BRUTAL cross.  MATTAR IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 8.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mattar's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Mattar's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Aplaon advances into close range and is on target with a sharp left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Mattar switches the action to the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Mattar lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mattar connects with a left hook.  
Aplaon gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to Mattar's body.  
Aplaon is looking to close the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Aplaon lands a firm cross.  
Mattar drives a spiteful jab into his opponents face.  
Mattar lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a jab to the head.  
Aplaon lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Aplaon is on target with a firm right uppercut to Mattar's ribs.  
Aplaon is on target with a left hook.  
Aplaon drives a stinging right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Aplaon lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Mattar is looking to keep his distance and throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Aplaon gets on the inside.  Aplaon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a FEROCIOUS left hook.  MATTAR WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Mattar recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Aplaon thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Mattar away.  Aplaon lands two straights followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS MATTAR DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Mattar is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Aplaon lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, KNOCKING MATTAR DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Aplaon!
