Santiago Zenon vs Diego Verdugo

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Estadio Morelos, Ecatepec,  taking place on 23/07/2039:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Mexico-Mexico State Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Zenon (13(9) - 1(1)) who hails from Tlalnepantla, Mexico and Diego Verdugo(23 - 8 - 4) from Ecatepec, Mexico.  Both Zenon and Verdugo weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Berto Calles, and the three ringside judges are Pedro Quintana, Juan Blasco and Angel Quijano.  

Round 1: 

Zenon steps inside and drives a left uppercut into Verdugo's ribs.  
Zenon drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Zenon lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Zenon walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Zenon lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Zenon lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Zenon clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Zenon steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!

Zenon advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Verdugo on the ropes.  Zenon lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Zenon holds on to his opponent.  Zenon is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Zenon and breaks the clinch.  
Zenon lands a solid right hook.  Zenon ties up his opponent.  Zenon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Zenon advances into close range.  Zenon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Zenon drives a left hook into Verdugo's liver.  Zenon ties up his opponent.  Zenon leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Zenon tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Zenon lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  
Zenon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Zenon gets on the inside and lands a right hook.  
Zenon lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Verdugo is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Verdugo could be stopped here, if Zenon can find the right shot!  Zenon lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, KNOCKING VERDUGO DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Zenon closes the distance and walks his opponent into the corner.  Zenon lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS VERDUGO!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Verdugo now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Zenon lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Zenon crashes a mean right hook to his opponents body.  VERDUGO IS HURT!  
Zenon is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Zenon whips in a big right uppercut to Verdugo's body.  VERDUGO HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  Verdugo now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Zenon lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Some sustained pressure from Zenon could be enough to finish Verdugo!  Zenon lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body, AND VERDUGO IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 6.

The ref does not even bother with the count...he's seen enough!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Zenon!
