Mark Steen vs Roger Spier

Boxing Daily Report from the DBA promoted show at Crescent City Boxing Gym, New Orleans,  taking place on 18/10/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mark Steen (28(14) - 0) who hails from Port St. Lucie, USA and Roger Spier(3 - 11(1)) from Rochester, USA.  Both Steen and Spier weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Stuart Grieve, and the three ringside judges are Jonathan Setton, Adam Morris and Mark Gilchrist.  

Round 1: 

Steen steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Steen lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Spier sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Steen is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents liver.  
Steen steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Steen pivots to the right of his opponent.  Steen lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Steen holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Steen pushes his forearm into Spier's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Steen about fouling.

Steen throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Steen holds on to his opponent.  Steen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Steen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Steen hits home with a solid right hook.  Steen clinches his opponent.  Steen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Steen is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Steen connects with a solid cross.  
Steen gets on the inside and digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  
Steen lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Steen feints a jab, but Spier does not fall for it and responds with a left hook.  
Spier gets on the inside.  Steen lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Steen throws a right uppercut, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Steen holds on to his opponent.  Steen uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Spier's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Spier attempts to land a jab, but Steen blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Steen throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Steen pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Spier's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Spier's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Spier's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Spier's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Steen sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.

Steen closes the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Spier recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Steen gets on the inside and EXPLODES a spiteful left hook into his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE SPIER WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!
