Alastair Taylor vs Lee Blethen

Boxing Daily Report from the Kiwi Promotions promoted show at Wellington Farquhar, Wellington,  taking place on 05/09/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the New Zealand-Wellington Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alastair Taylor (5(3) - 0) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Lee Blethen(13 - 9(1) - 4) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Taylor and Blethen weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mel Binner, and the three ringside judges are Will Swaney, Ollie Steel and Barry Christeson.  

Round 1: 

Taylor lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Taylor gets on the inside and hits home with a right uppercut.

Taylor throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Taylor ties up his opponent.  Taylor pushes his forearm into Blethen's face.  The referee warns Taylor and breaks the clinch.

Taylor walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Taylor tries to land a left hook, but Blethen dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.

Taylor manages to force Blethen into the red corner.  Taylor connects with a firm left uppercut.  Taylor throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Taylor lands a right uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Taylor digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Taylor ties up his opponent.  Taylor tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Blethen behind the head. The ref breaks Taylor's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Blethen tries to land a jab, but Taylor slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Blethen's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Blethen's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Taylor.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.

At the end of Round 3, lets listen in on the corners...Blethen's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Blethen's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

He continues the combination and lands two left hooks followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND SENDS BLETHEN TO THE CANVAS!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Taylor!
