Robert Neale vs Shaun Downie

Boxing Daily Report from the Mainza Promotions promoted show at The Roadhouse, Doncaster,  taking place on 09/05/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Northern England Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Robert Neale (9 - 24(2) - 4) who hails from Bradford, UK and Shaun Downie(30(23) - 7(7) - 2) from Bury, UK.  Neale weighed in at 147 pounds, while Downie weighed in at 146 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Joey Burn, and the three ringside judges are Rob Marceau, Arran Bogle and Patrick Curtis.  

Round 1: 

Downie lands with a sharp jab.  
Downie closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Neale is looking to close the distance.  Downie lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Neale is looking to close the distance.  Downie lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Downie lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Downie steps to the outside.  Downie lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Neale tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.

Downie manages to force Neale onto the ropes.  Downie lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Neale steps inside.  Downie lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Downie holds on to his opponent.  Neale uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Downie behind the head. 
Downie lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Downie is on target with a solid right hook to Neale's body.

Downie cuts off the ring, trapping Neale on the ropes.  Downie is on target with a right uppercut.

Downie slams a nasty left hook into Neale's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE NEALE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Downie clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Downie pushes his forearm into Neale's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  Neale recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Downie lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Downie tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Downie closes the distance and digs in a right hook to Neale's body.  Downie holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Downie pushes his forearm into Neale's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Downie steps to the outside and lands an overhand right.  
Downie gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Downie closes the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Neale in a neutral corner.  Downie lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Downie drives a right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Downie lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Downie clinches his opponent.  Downie leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Downie pushes his forearm into Neale's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Downie lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Downie pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a firm left uppercut.  
Downie is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Downie clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Downie pushes his forearm into Neale's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Downie.  
Neale wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Downie dabs at his face checking for damage.

Downie lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Downie ties up his opponent.  Downie leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Neale's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Neale's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Neale's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Downie sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Downie DETONATES a mean left hook on his opponents face.  NEALE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Downie clinches his opponent.  Downie leans on his opponent using all his weight. Downie is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Downie.  
The right shot from Downie could be enough to force the stoppage!  Downie lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, AND NEALE IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 8.  Neale now seems to have his senses back.  
Downie sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a firm right uppercut.  
Downie manouvers Neale onto the ropes.  Downie lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Downie lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Downie steps away from his opponent.  Downie feints a jab, tricking Neale into launching a left hook counter.  Downie is waiting for the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Downie connects with a left hook.  
Downie switches the action to the outside.  Neale quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Downie hits home with a spiteful jab.  
Neale is looking to close the distance.  Downie lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.

Downie tries to step out of his opponents range.  Downie senses Neale is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Downie connects with a mean cross.  NEALE IS DOWN!  HE TRIES TO RISE BUT HIS LEGS DONT RESPOND...THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Downie!
