Jawad Sajjad vs Waqas Marzouki

Boxing Daily Report from the Mayat Promotions promoted show at Jeddah Jamail, Jeddah,  taking place on 01/03/2037:

Clearly Mayat Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Saudi Arabia-West Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jawad Sajjad (23 - 19(2) - 7) who hails from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Waqas Marzouki(16 - 18 - 3) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Both Sajjad and Marzouki weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ibrahim Badour, and the three ringside judges are Khalid Kashif, Sajid Alnaqbi and Atif Zaidi.  

Round 1: 

Marzouki tries to land a cross, but Sajjad slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Sajjad steps away from his opponent and attempts to land an overhand right, but Marzouki sidesteps and counters with a left hook to Sajjad's body.  
Marzouki gets on the inside.  Sajjad pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  
Marzouki lands a cross.  
Sajjad tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with a cross.  
Marzouki tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Sajjad steps to the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Marzouki gets on the inside.  Sajjad pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Marzouki's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sajjad's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Marzouki's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Marzouki's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Marzouki lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

Marzouki advances into close range.  Marzouki sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Marzouki dabs at his face checking for damage.  Marzouki has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
