Maiope Hotu vs Alastair Lemonds

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Vector Arena, Auckland,  taking place on 01/11/2036:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the New Zealand Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Maiope Hotu (14(8) - 3) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Alastair Lemonds(10 - 21 - 4) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Hotu and Lemonds weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is George Brain, and the three ringside judges are Matthew Chisholm, Lloyd Rease and Cody Master.  

Round 1: 

Hotu steps inside and connects with a left hook.  Hotu ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Hotu pushes his forearm into Lemonds's face.  The ref breaks Hotu's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Hotu lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Hotu is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Hotu ties up his opponent.  Hotu pushes his forearm into Lemonds's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Lemonds throws a right hook, but Hotu holds on to his opponent.  Hotu pushes his forearm into Lemonds's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Hotu pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Hotu hits home with a right hook.  
Lemonds throws a left hook, but Hotu clinches his opponent.  Hotu hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch.

Hotu sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Hotu forces Lemonds to back into the corner.  Hotu lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Hotu ties up his opponent.  Hotu leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Hotu closes the distance and drives a right hook into his opponents body.

Hotu pivots to the side of his opponent and drives a firm right hook into Lemonds's ribs.  
Hotu manages to force Lemonds into a corner.  Hotu lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Hotu holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Hotu pushes his forearm into Lemonds's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Hotu.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Lemonds's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Lemonds's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Lemonds's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Lemonds's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Hotu is on target with a firm left uppercut to Lemonds's ribs.  Hotu holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Hotu pushes his forearm into Lemonds's face.  The ref separates the two fighters and sends Lemonds to the neutral corner.  He takes Hotu's arm and signals to each judge that a point should be deducted!
