Ovidio Maggay vs Rico Balantakbo

Boxing Daily Report from the Dauda Promotions promoted show at Cabuyao Matute, Cabuyao,  taking place on 01/09/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Philippines-Laguna Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ovidio Maggay (11 - 12(1) - 3) who hails from Calamba, Philippines and Rico Balantakbo(9 - 3 - 2) from Santa Rosa, Philippines.  Both Maggay and Balantakbo weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Carlos Murillo, and the three ringside judges are Olindo Isip, Ivan Talaro and Santiago Trillo.  

Round 1: 

Maggay lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.

Maggay quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Maggay throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to Maggay's ribs.  
Balantakbo feints a cross, and then connects with a right uppercut.  
Balantakbo closes the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Maggay in a neutral corner.  Maggay tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Maggay hits home with a right uppercut.  Balantakbo holds on to his opponent.  Maggay pushes his forearm into Balantakbo's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Maggay steps inside.  Balantakbo wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Maggay dabs at his face checking for damage.
