James Shirer vs Joe Ruane

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at Gore Gym, Boston,  taking place on 09/08/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are James Shirer (7 - 0) who hails from Boston, USA and Joe Ruane(8 - 5(1)) from Seattle, USA.  Shirer weighed in at 200 pounds, while Ruane weighed in at 199 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Bart McWethy, and the three ringside judges are Oliver McCleese, Bilal Elbaz and Nathan Burt.  

Round 1: 

Ruane attempts to land a cross, but Shirer slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Shirer lands with a stinging jab.  
Shirer closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by two left hook's to the body.  
Shirer lands a left uppercut to the head followed by two left hook's to the body.  
Shirer gets on the inside and lands a right hook.  Shirer ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Shirer pushes his forearm into Ruane's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Shirer about fouling.  
Shirer lands a sharp left hook.  
Shirer forces Ruane to back into the ropes.  Shirer lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Shirer lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.

Shirer gets on the inside and manages to force Ruane onto the ropes.  Ruane throws a left hook, but Shirer clinches his opponent.  Shirer leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Shirer closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Shirer advances into close range and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Shirer is looking to close the distance and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ruane's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Ruane's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Ruane's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Shirer lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Shirer is on target with a left hook to Ruane's liver.  
Ruane is on target with a cross.

Shirer closes the distance and forces Ruane to retreat into the corner.  Shirer sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Ruane recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Ruane steps to the outside.  Shirer feints a jab, and then lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Shirer is looking to close the distance.  Ruane hits home with a right uppercut.  
Shirer steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Ruane quickly recovers. 
Shirer hits home with a cross.  
Shirer gets on the inside and connects with a stinging left hook.  Shirer clinches his opponent.  Shirer is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Shirer closes the distance and manages to force Ruane into the corner.  Shirer lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head, AND RUANE IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Shirer!
