Nicandro Monico vs Santiago Velasquez

Boxing Daily Report from the Los Moreco Promotions promoted show at Estadio Alejandro Morena Soto, San Jose,  taking place on 02/08/2036:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Costa Rica Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TD+, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Nicandro Monico (30(28) - 4(3) - 1) who hails from San Jose, Costa Rica and Santiago Velasquez(13 - 5(1) - 3) from San Jose, Costa Rica.  Both Monico and Velasquez weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hernan Lovato, and the three ringside judges are Marco Leo, Javier Gallo and Baltasar Cecilio.  

Round 1: 

Monico lands a cross to the body followed by a overhand left to the head.
