Matthew Stennis vs Ian Paewai

Boxing Daily Report from the ADR Boxing promoted show at Wollongong Showground, Wollongong,  taking place on 15/08/2036:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Oceania Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Matthew Stennis (31(21) - 2 - 2) who hails from Perth, Australia and Ian Paewai(20 - 12 - 5) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Stennis and Paewai weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dave Telfair, and the three ringside judges are Brendan Gillie, Kai Hanigan and Arran Mair.  

Round 1: 

Stennis steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Stennis lands a jab.

Stennis finds the target with a hard jab.  
Stennis lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Stennis switches the action to the outside and lands a sharp cross.  
Stennis lands with a ramrod jab.  
Paewai is looking to close the distance.  Stennis hits home with a right hook.  Stennis ties up his opponent.  Stennis pushes his forearm into Paewai's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Paewai forces Stennis to back into the ropes.  Stennis lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Stennis steps to the outside and drives a stinging jab into his opponents face.

Paewai advances into close range and throws a right hook, but Stennis clinches his opponent.  Stennis is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Stennis pushes his forearm into Paewai's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Stennis about fouling.  
Stennis feints a cross, and then lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Stennis is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a stinging overhand right.  
Paewai advances into close range.  Stennis lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Paewai tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Stennis's kidney.

Stennis tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with a big overhand left.  IT LOOKS LIKE PAEWAI WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Paewai could be stopped here, if Stennis can find the right shot!  Stennis lands two left uppercuts followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head, AND DROPS PAEWAI TO THE CANVAS!  The count reaches 10, but Paewai is unable to get up!  The winner by KO is Stennis!
