Owen Hakopyan vs Joel McCormick

Boxing Daily Report from the JSW promoted show at Westpac, Melbourne,  taking place on 11/02/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Owen Hakopyan (9(4) - 0) who hails from Adelaide, Australia and Joel McCormick(15 - 10(2) - 4 - 1(NC)) from Sydney, Australia.  Both Hakopyan and McCormick weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Aaron Hadjinyan, and the three ringside judges are Johnny Elias, Jonathan Neilson and Sammy Lorimer.  

Round 1: 

McCormick tries to land a left uppercut, but Hakopyan slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Hakopyan is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Hakopyan lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Hakopyan forces McCormick to back into a corner.  Hakopyan throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Hakopyan ties up his opponent.  Hakopyan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Hakopyan about fouling.  
Hakopyan drives a solid right uppercut into McCormick's body.  Hakopyan clinches his opponent.  Hakopyan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Hakopyan lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Hakopyan holds on to his opponent.  Hakopyan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Hakopyan and breaks the clinch.  
Hakopyan lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Hakopyan ties up his opponent.  Hakopyan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
McCormick lands a left uppercut.  
Hakopyan steps inside.  Hakopyan lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Hakopyan has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Hakopyan steps inside and digs in a left hook to McCormick's body.  
Hakopyan manouvers McCormick onto the ropes.  Hakopyan lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Hakopyan lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Hakopyan lands a right hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Hakopyan sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Hakopyan closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Hakopyan clinches his opponent.  Hakopyan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Hakopyan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Hakopyan forces McCormick to back into the red corner.  Hakopyan attempts to land a left hook, but McCormick blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Hakopyan drives a right uppercut into McCormick's body.  
McCormick connects with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McCormick's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  McCormick's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Hakopyan gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Hakopyan ties up his opponent.  Hakopyan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McCormick is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Hakopyan hits home with a stinging overhand left.  
McCormick tries to step out of his opponents range.  Hakopyan lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Hakopyan lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Hakopyan digs in a right hook to McCormick's body.  
Hakopyan gets on the inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Hakopyan lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Hakopyan is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.

Hakopyan gets on the inside and digs in a stinging right hook to McCormick's ribcage.  Hakopyan holds on to his opponent.  Hakopyan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Hakopyan to stop holding.

Hakopyan gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
McCormick is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Hakopyan feints a cross, and then is on target with a firm overhand right.  Hakopyan throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.

Hakopyan lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Hakopyan dabs at his face checking for damage.

Hakopyan closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hakopyan lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Hakopyan is on target with a right hook to McCormick's ribs.

He then lands a cross to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  It looks like McCormick has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
McCormick tries to step out of his opponents range.  Hakopyan lands a straight 1 - 2, KNOCKING MCCORMICK DOWN!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Hakopyan!
