Brett Rukutai vs Clint Bonnar

Boxing Daily Report from the Pacific and Andean Promotions promoted show at Wilding Park Tennis Centre, Christchurch,  taking place on 01/09/2035:

Clearly Pacific and Andean Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Brett Rukutai (3 - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Clint Bonnar(3 - 1 - 2) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Rukutai weighed in at 234 pounds And 14 ounces, while Bonnar weighed in at 247 pounds And 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ian Duff, and the three ringside judges are Stephen Suite, Ian Dixon and Michael Breck.  

Round 1: 

Rukutai lands a firm cross.

Rukutai connects with a solid right uppercut.  As Rukutai tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Bonnar dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Rukutai closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Rukutai walks his opponent into the corner.  Rukutai quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Rukutai lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body. Bonnar pivots to the right of his opponent.  Rukutai lands a sharp cross.

Rukutai throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Bonnar's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Rukutai gets on the inside.  Rukutai quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left uppercut to Bonnar's ribs.  
Rukutai is looking to close the distance and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Rukutai tries to land a cross, but Bonnar sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Rukutai closes the distance and drives a left hook into Bonnar's body.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Bonnar's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Bonnar's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Bonnar's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
