Sam Kenrick vs Zaid Shamenda

Boxing Daily Report from the JSW promoted show at Canberra Stadium, Canberra,  taking place on 25/08/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Commonwealth Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sam Kenrick (27(12) - 5(1)) who hails from Kingston, Jamaica and Zaid Shamenda(15 - 5(3)) from Lusaka, Zambia.  Kenrick weighed in at 108 pounds, while Shamenda weighed in at 107 pounds And 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Kilbride, and the three ringside judges are Noel Wilson, Danny McCornack and Neil Cookston.  

Round 1: 

Shamenda connects with a cross.

Kenrick feints a cross, tricking Shamenda into throwing a left uppercut counter.  Kenrick is waiting for the shot and counters with a FEROCIOUS left hook.  SHAMENDA IS HURT!  Shamenda recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Kenrick.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
